Next BBV Peer Support Event: Domestic Abuse, Support, Safety and Knowing You're Not Alone

The next BBV Peer Support Team event is taking place on Wednesday 13 August and focuses on Domestic Abuse: Support, Safety and Knowing You're Not Alone.

Domestic abuse can affect anyone and can take many forms, including emotional, physical, sexual and financial abuse, as well as coercive and controlling behaviour. For people living with HIV or hepatitis, a diagnosis may also be used by someone else to manipulate, control or pressure them into staying in a relationship.

Join Mark Longman and Sarah McCarthy from the Safeguarding Team as they discuss recognising the signs of domestic abuse, understanding the support available and knowing where to turn for help. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions in a safe and supportive environment.

Following the talk, the BBV Peer Support Group will meet for people living with HIV and Hepatitis B. This confidential and welcoming group provides an opportunity to connect with others, share experiences and build supportive connections.
