On Sunday 16th July we will lead another sponsored bike ride to raise money for the Robert Grace Trust Emergency Fund. We are looking for riders, sponsors and volunteers to join the challenge. Friends and family welcome!
Why the Robert Grace Trust?
Robert Grace was an architect and a patient of the Mortimer Market Centre. The Trust was founded in his memory to provide emergency support for patients and carers and later for similar projects in his home country of South Africa and Kenya. For more information visit Robert Grace Trust
The Robert Grace Trust Emergency Fund has been running for seven years. Managed by the Patient Representatives, it helps patients in emergencies. It has paid for repairs, new locks, baby milk, groceries, white goods, beds & mattresses, school uniforms, holidays for children with disabilities, subsidies for travel and child care costs so that young mothers can attend the newly diagnosed course. The RGT Emergency Fund depends on donations to keep afloat and we at the Trust are very grateful to clinicians, staff, patients and private donors who have contributed so far.
A donation of £10, £20 or £50 makes all the difference to an individual at a time of crisis. Donate Online
What about the ride?
On the 16th July we will ride from London to Southend-on-Sea. That’s a 45 nice and easy miles so there’s no excuse not to do it! There will be refreshment stops and lunch along the way. We’ll be finishing in the pretty gardens of Priory Park where riders can enjoy a much deserved drink and return by train.
How will we raise funds?
We have set up a Donate Page page to make it easy to raise money. Of course we expect those who don’t ride to be very generous! Last year our team raised £1364.93 riding to Cambridge. Let’s see if we can beat them!
Please email cnw-tr.MMC-BloomsburyPatientReps@nhs.net if you or your friends fancy taking part. Stay fit and help raise money for a great cause!
